Andrea Frank Henkart and her daughter, Journey, are internationally recognized experts and popular keynote speakers specializing in the fields of parenting, communication skills and personal development.

Andrea has two teaching credentials from UCLA, a Master’s Degree in Psychology and numerous credentials in nutrition, yoga and alternative health techniques. She is currently completing her Doctorate in Psychology. In her distinguished career as a skilled trainer, Andrea leads seminars on health and wellness and workshops on strengthening parent-child ties. Also known as the Babysitter Expert, Andrea teaches a unique blend of professionalism, safety skills and leadership in her popular workshop Super Sitters: A Positive Approach to Babysitting. She has personally taught over 10,000 preteens and teenagers nationwide. Her most recent work includes research, keynote speeches and articles specifically geared to create healthy solutions for family wellness, including childhood diabetes, obesity and toxicity.

Andrea has contributed to numerous books including RESPECT: for Girls and Hot Mom’s Handbook. She writes a monthly online article for Hot Moms Club Magazine and volunteers by teaching parenting classes to homeless and at-risk families.

Andrea has authored five books: The Cesarean Challenge (1991), Trust Your Body! Trust Your Baby! (1995), The Healthy Family Handbook: Creating Physical and Emotional Nutrition at Home (2004), Healthy Mothers, Healthy Kids (2006) and the highly acclaimed, Cool Communication: From Conflict To Cooperation for Parents and Kids (1998) co-written with her daughter, Journey. Andrea’s book endorsements include Oprah Winfrey, Deepak Chopra, Dr. John Gray, Jack Canfield and Stephen Covey.

Journey Henkart is a seasoned media veteran. She has led parent/teen seminars and self-empowerment workshops with her mother since she was twelve. In middle school, Journey wrote a newspaper advice column for teens called "Journey for Answers" and served as the West Coast correspondent to Blue Jean Magazine, a publication for teenage girls. In high school, she became a Certified Peer Facilitator for Transforming Communities, a community action team educating schools, public agencies, and corporations on strategies to prevent domestic violence and abuse. After three years of college, Journey graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology.

Journey is a sought after speaker by national community outreach programs. She specializes in teaching life-skills to middle and high school students, which includes building self-confidence, leadership and career planning. Audiences of all ages appreciate Journey’s practical solutions to life’s challenges.

Andrea and Journey are a unique mother-daughter team who offer a fresh, creative approach to their keynote speeches and workshops. Both mother and daughter serve on the Board of Directors for Parents and Teachers against Violence in Education. They have been featured guests on numerous radio and television programs internationally, including Oprah Winfrey, Montel Williams and the Catherine Show in Holland. Their passion inspires people of all ages to develop effective communication skills and reduce conflict within businesses, families and communities all over the world.
